Philosophy
My philosophy as an educator is for every student to fall in love with learning! Once students develop a love for learning it no longer becomes a task but a desire for each student. I aim for students to view learning as fun and exciting as they decode new information into their schemas. I plan to do this by making learning interactive and hands on, so that students are engaged in the learning process rather than passively listening to the material being taught. I consider myself to be a very creative person. I love dancing, singing, arts and crafts, and probably get more excited than the kids when any of these are involved in a lesson! Having fun while teaching is imperative to me and I know that it makes the experience much more rememberable for the kids as well. So, if there is ever a chance I can incorporate singing, dancing, painting, drawing, creating poetry etc., while still making a lesson standards based and rich in content, I will! I also value the approaches of teaching towards every type of learner, and making accommodations and modifications regularly to better fit the needs of every student. I believe all students would benefit academically if they are able to first develop a love for learning, and that is why I have made it one of my career goals and teaching philosophy.
